Uh Oh

I prefer for my babies to stay in their cribs as long as possible. Mr. D is only 28 months old. He recently learned a new skill that this Momma is not ready for!

Like this bubba?

Big boy

We still have to prop him up a bit with a blanket around his tummy but he is big stuff in this thing!  It is fun to watch him play with the toys, watch his siblings and move around in a circle.  When he gets tired he doesn't even fuss.  He just sucks his favorite finger and leans his head over.  What a sweet boy!

We crack up when he holds his bib up like this.  It looks like he is saying, "If your gonna spew, spew in this."  Ha!

Her favorite chore

Everything in Lil' Ruthie's life must be pink.

She just loves pink.

Her very favorite chore is refilling the dishwasher pod.

I have both a blue and a pink package.

She says, "not this one...PINK."

She just loves it when it is her time to shine.

"Put soap in!" she says.

 Well done, sister!

W lost his first tooth!

It's a big day today!  Those front two bottom teeth have been wiggly for some time.  W has been waiting patiently for his first tooth to come out.  It was the middle of the night when he came in to our room with his tooth in hand.  Dad paid up with a big buck-a-roo at breakfast.  I think W is looking forward to loosing more of them now!

The Haircut

Q man has been blessed with the most amazing head of curly hair.  I love how it looks when it is long enough to see those curls.  Since Aunt DW moved out of state we needed a new plan for Q's hair cuts.  Mind you, DW moved out of state in September so you can imagine just how long his curls were.

EJ and I decided that he would take him to the barber shop while I took the other kids and did some shopping at Wal-Mart.  EJ was planning to have the barber do a short cut on the sides and maybe leave it a little longer on top.

Turns out the barber encouraged EJ to buzz all the hair off so his first time in a big boy barber chair wouldn't be too scary.  Otherwise he would have to pick out his hair and that is no fun for the little man.  (we do it once a week when he has his hair washed)  So...EJ agreed that would be best.

What EJ didn't do was WARN THE MOMMA.

When EJ showed up with a bald Q I almost cried my eyes out right there in aisle 6 at Wal-Mart.  I held it together so Q wouldn't know what I was thinking.  I told Q how proud I was of him!  I looked at my husband and tried really hard not to go to my ugly place.  You know the place where asking him, "What were you smoking?!?!?!" seems totally appropriate.

After he explained the whole situation to me, I calmed down a little.  It took me a REALLY long time to get used to it.  In the end, the Q man can pull it off; and praise the good Lord, his hair grows fast!

P.S. He had a very good experience at the barber shop and we are thrilled to have found a place to take him.  Next time we won't let his hair get so long before we go!

2 Lost Teeth

Bubba has had a couple of loose teeth for awhile now.  He was excited for them to come out!

On Sunday, we were driving home from church while eating a quick fast food lunch.  He bit into his corn dog and out came his tooth!  You should have heard the celebrating coming from our car!

Then tonight, after the fellas were tucked into bed, Bubba came out of the room upset.  He said his tooth was hurting.  I looked inside his mouth.  The second tooth was ready to come out.  I grabbed hold of the tooth and it just slipped right out of his mouth.

He was so happy!

Here is that handsome smile...
