The biggest bro

It is a lot of responsibility to be looked up to by 5 younger siblings.

Our B man does it with ease.

We are so thankful for him.

Our Princess

This sweet little princess wanted to wear her new dress.

The first thing she did was look for her Daddy to show him her outfit.

I heard him say, "You look beautiful!"

Then I heard one big brother at a time say things like, "Oh Sissy you do look beautiful!"

Good luck to the young man who tries to win her heart some day.

He will have his work cut out for him.

She is adored by many.

The men in her life are setting the bar very high!

the snuggle schedule

I am only sort of kidding when I say I need a snuggle schedule.  Babies need plenty of snuggle time and I am going to be sure they get it.  On my first day flying solo I snapped these pictures of me with my baby boys.  I imagine that baby wearing is going to be a very important part of my day.  It leaves my hands free to meet the needs of the other kids while keeping a baby close.

I have not forgotten that Lil' Ruthie is still a baby herself and will need some time with Momma too.  She climbed into her baby brother's car seat this morning and I had to snap a picture.

The big fellas are always so busy that I have to grab a quick hug when they run by.  I have noticed that they will snuggle up to me if I am reading them a book or offer to scratch their backs.  Watching them be so independent reminds me that this time passes quickly and I better enjoy it while it is here!

(They are into Lego bricks big time.  It is so much fun to watch them use their imaginations to build all kinds of things.  Also, those things are super expensive.  I need to buy a big 'ol tub of them from someone whose children have outgrown them.)

The oldest brother

B loves being the big brother to this wild group.

He has often prayed and asked God for more siblings.

When we found out he was on the way 8 years and 10 months ago, we were over the moon excited.

We couldn't believe that we were actually having a baby after 2 years of trying for one.

His first name means, "Brother."  His middle name means, "God has heard."

When we named him I didn't know the meaning of his first name.

Now I realize that God knew all along he would be the brother to many.

The big brothers have spoken

(The oldest two boys were talking to Sissy (aka Miss Ruthie) when this conversation started.  They love her so much!)

B: "I want another sister."

W: "Me too."

Me:  (pointing to my tummy) "I am cooking another brother in here.  How will we get another sister?"

B: "Well, if you get pregnant again it could be a sister.  Or we could adopt a sister."

W: "Yes, we could adopt a sister!"

B: "Mom, I want to help another mom who needs us."

I LOVE their hearts.

(Now slow down fellas and let Momma get baby E here first. Ha!)
