We are loving the simplicity of life at The Barn House.
We have a a ton of future projects and plans but for today, I'll focus on the things that have already been accomplished!
Building on the family land started as a childhood dream for EJ.
We have had a plan for the land for a long time but it was around Christmas of 2014 that we decided it was time to build The Barn House.
We broke ground on April 3, 2015.
Then it rained and rained and rained.
Miraculously, the rain only delayed us a little bit.
Before we knew it, the house started taking shape.
We left our mark on the studs before the walls were closed up.
The planning and the hard work all paid off when we got to move our family into The Barn House! (In July, around 100 days after ground breaking)
Please enjoy the tour...
This house was a true labor of love. I need to have EJ write about all the things he learned through this project. I will say that he acted as the General Contractor on our build. He used fantastic local contractors. We had excellent family and friends who stepped in to help. We also had a secret weapon. Mr. D, our handyman. He and EJ spent countless hours working side by side. They didn't call it quits until nearly midnight many nights. They did the insulation, the exterior, the roof and all the finish work.
To say I am proud and thankful is an understatement.
Thank you for making every detail just right for me.
I love you!
