Apple Picking Day!

Miss Ruthie and Mommy decided that we needed cute hair for our visit to the Orchard.  This is a huge deal because Miss Ruthie hates to have her hair done.  She took one look at my hair and said, "Mommy, you look pretty.  You are soooo cute!"  Sweet baby girl.

Of course, when I asked her if she wanted to take a picture together she did this...

Thankfully she decided to smile for a few pictures.  I am so grateful that she did.  I will treasure these forever.

Here is the wild bunch ready to pick some apples!

The babies were not impressed.  I think baby E is saying, "Eh, whatever" in this picture.

Baby D felt equally unimpressed.

B and W were awesome apple pickers.

They filled up those boxes quickly and had a blast doing it.

Q was a good sport but he thought there were a few too many flies for his liking.

Miss Ruthie thought is was fun to find the pretty apples.

Our little three tired out and we were thankful for the stroller.

These three were the die hard among us.

I love this picture.

We hope to visit the Orchard again next year.

Now, what to do with all these apples???

A day at the park

This week we had an impromptu field trip.

Gma (EJ's mom) comes weekly to help.  We are usually just here at the house.  Lately, I have needed to take baby E for some appointments so she has watched the older 5 at home.  This week I had a last minute idea.  Let's all go to the appointment, then pick up Great Auntie R and head to the park.

The weather was perfect and the company was precious.

These are special women and I enjoyed my day with them very much.

Great Auntie R. is Gma's Aunt.

She is EJ's great aunt.

I guess that makes her my kids' Great-Great Aunt.

I love that woman.

There is just something about her.

I think we need to make it a point to do this again.
